I’m well aware that women that chose to pursue relationships with men with kids experience a gamut of emotions such as anxiety, depression, confusion, and helplessness. As a Stepmom, I’ve felt each of these emotions too. It’s really easy to get consumed while coping with a high conflict mom, a partner that does not know how to set boundaries or stepchildren that wished you didn’t exist.

It’s extremely difficult to maintain the delicate balance in families like ours. One day things could be fine and in a split second, emotions begin running hot, the kids are crying, you’re thinking of leaving, she is threatening to take your man back to court and he is fumbling because he is failing at “keeping everyone happy”. My sole focus is to provide long-term solutions for you. Sometimes having your feelings validated calms you down temporarily, but there’s no easy fix to what you’re going through. My job is to solve your problem, not put a bandaid over the wound.

To be totally transparent, I was beginning to feel bad because I could not tend to my clients, produce my podcast, oversee content creation, teach classes and answer every inbox message, comment or email from stepmoms in distress. I honestly just did not have the bandwidth to immediately respond to every individual that reaches out to me. Since I’m the Solution Queen, I knew I needed to do something to be able to serve my community in a quantifiable way.
